Digital Cards, Stamps, Papers, Kits and Collage Sheet FAQ’s

What’s in the digital Papercraft kits?

The products offered at DigitalPapercrafts are taken from the best sources of original artwork from contributing artists and carefully researched and sourced commercial use products. We take care to make sure you can use these files for personal use and in your crafting business (see our angel policy) without worry.

How do I use them?

These carefully chosen and edited collections of digital files are for you to use to create your own digital cards, digital scrapbook layouts and digital altered art. To use them requires an image manipulation program such as Photoshop, Photoshop Elements or GIMP and the ability to resize images and perform other tasks.

Can I print my art, cards and layouts?

Yes! That’s at the heart of DigitalPapercrafts mission.  We supply printable files as 300 dpi print quality jpg or png files. They are either standard size 8.5 x 11 inch digital sheets that you can print and use in your paper crafting as well as digital scrapbooking or a 12 x 12 inch sheet for standard page layouts. The exact size is listed in the product description.

Do I have to choose which type of files I want for printable products?

For printable products, you’ll receive BOTH a high resolution 300 dpi jpg and a transparent background png file of the sheet(s) (without watermark) so you’ve got maximum flexibility and you don’t have to choose!

What type of files will I get for digital papercrafting kits?

You’ll receive the entire collection described which may include jpg, png, and gif files along with other useful digital media such as PDF files and other types.

How will I get my files?

Since these are DIGITAL products, they are digitally delivered. When your order is complete, you’ll receive a link to DOWNLOAD your items right away. Be sure to download them soon as the link is only active for 72 hours (that’s 3 days) and you don’t want to miss out. There are no physical products delivered.

What if I have trouble with my download?

Send us a note and we’ll sort it right out! We use an industry standard system but sometimes things do go awry in cyberspace. Just let me know and I’ll take care of it!

Is my order secure?

Yes! We use a secure payment processor for your PayPal or charge card payment.

How about returns?

Because these products are digital and not physical, they can’t be “returned” or refunded. If you have any questions about something before you place your order, just ask! We want you to be happy with your purchase so let us know right away if you run into a problem.

What can I do with these – or what kind of license am I getting?

We offer a version of an “angel policy” for licensing. That means we allow crafter and artisan commercial use as long as it’s not mass production. You can create hand crafted items to sell as long as you make them yourself with no employees or mass production equipment. Please read the complete terms of use for details.

Why do you have an “angel policy”?

Because we believe that most folks want to do the right thing and will abide by terms that are fair. We also want to encourage creativity and hand created works as much as possible.

What about Copyright?

Good question! When you purchase a digital papercrafts kit from us, you’re buying a license to use the images in accordance with our terms of use. That doesn’t include the copyright to the images – that remains with the creator unless specifically assigned.

OK, what’s against the rules?

Skeezy stuff. Like you can’t claim them as your own, give them away, or redistribute them, free or otherwise, in kit or single file form. You can’t license work made from them, mass produce items or sell them through online market places. Those things violate the idea of creative input and work. If it feels wrong, it probably is, but read the terms of use for more.

Because we believe that most folks want to do the right thing and will abide by terms that are fair, we try to make sure these terms are clear. We want to encourage your creativity and the creation of handmade work as much as possible. That means you can create items for sale, personally and by hand, and sell them at physical stores, craft fairs and other similar events and on your own website.

When you purchase a digital papercrafts kit from us, you’re buying a license to use the images in accordance with our terms of use. That doesn’t include the copyright to the images – that remains with the creator unless specifically assigned.

You can’t produce the items you make for sale by mass-production, assembly-line construction or by production-for-hire workers. You also can’t claim these images as your own, give them away, or redistribute them, free or otherwise, kit or single file form. You may not license work made from them or sell them through online market places such as Amazon, Zazzle, or Café Press. Those things violate the idea of creative input and work. If it feels wrong, it probably is, but send us a note if you’re not sure or need a broader license.

If you use one of our products in your advertising, give DigitalPapercrafts credit for that – it’s only fair.

Commercial licenses for broader reproduction and distribution rights are available, just send us a note!
